How to get the best Currituck rental home experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- Summer months are high season in Corolla. To book the best vacation home within budget, we suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many property management companies supply Currituck area travel guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting the best rental:
- Begin by choosing your a vacation week and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. 2 Bed \/ 2 bath condo Single level NO STEPS\/ Walk to the BEACH has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before reserving the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation.
- If there's a specific Currituck beach you crave, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or applied to your contract.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Upon arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a great vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
