How to find the best Corolla vacation rental experience:

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Summer is high season in Corolla. To find the best value, try shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, , and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Currituck area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Choosing the perfect vacation rental in Corolla:

  • Start by selecting a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. The 1903 Beach Club at Whalehead - Corolla OBX has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck rentals search.

  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
  • During check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to inspire future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
