Tips to get the very best Currituck rental home experience:
Getting the best value:
- The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Summer months are high season in Corolla. To book the largest vacation home within your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area visitor guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your dates, and choose a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. ACQUA DI VITA in Corolla, N.C has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck rentals search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking websites. If not, contact the property owner before you book the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is best for your family.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
During your stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Record any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
