Tips for getting the perfect Corolla rental home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the best vacation home within budget, we recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Currituck restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Look for your local Currituck visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have discounts for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Planning, selecting, and booking the bestrental:

  • Select your dates and max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. BQ10A Salty SEArenity * Dog Friendly has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck rentals search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property manager before you book the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what is optimal for your vacation.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .

Know before you go:

  • Add the owner's information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many difficulties.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • At Check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to stimulate new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
