Currituck rental property booking tips and tricks:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Reserve your Currituck vacation in Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- In the Currituck area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Hosts sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local Currituck area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Choosing the perfect vacation rental:
- Start by selecting vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. BQ10A Salty SEArenity * Dog Friendly has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking websites. If not, contact the property owner before you reserve the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Is your family looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Upon check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- At departure, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
