Tips to get the very best rental experience:
When to reserve a Currituck rental & When to go:
- To book the most suitable rental within budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Currituck area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain discounts for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Selecting and booking your prefectvacation home:
- First and foremost, have your family choose a vacation week and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Sandy Toes: No Cleaning Fees, Pets Stay Free, & Beach Parking Pass Included has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before you book the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- If there's an individual Currituck beach you are crazy about, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or may be applied to your contract.
More considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- To make certain no damages are attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the host immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of problems.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to inspire more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
