Tricks and tips to get the optimal Currituck vacation home experience:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- Summer time is high season in the Currituck area. To get the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Currituck restaurants and activities.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning and choosing the perfectrental:
- Begin by choosing a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Always About The Beach: Condo near the beach in the heart of Corolla has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before you book the rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- If there's a specific Currituck attraction you are enamored with, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- To make certain no damages are attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas upon check in. Contact the rental manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
