Tricks and tips for getting the best Currituck rental experience:

How to get the best value:

  • To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Currituck trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area visitor guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Filter your rental search:

  • To start, have your group choose trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Lil' Nauti Built in 2023. 3.5 miles off the blacktop \n4WD Required-AIR DOWN! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck rentals search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the host before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what configuration is right for your trip.
  • If there's a specific Currituck destination you are crazy about, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs applied to your contract.

Advice for a great stay:

  • Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
  • To make sure that damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the rental manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
