Tips to get the best vacation home experience:

How to get the best value:

  • Summertime is high season in Corolla. Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local Currituck visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Planning and choosing the perfect Currituck rental home:

  • First and foremost, have your group agree to date ranges and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Welcome to Barefoot Bliss Kick Off Your Shoes & Enjoy This Single Level Condo has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you reserve the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's a certain Currituck attraction you love, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas upon check in. text the rental manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a excellent time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
