Tips and Tricks for getting the best Corolla rental home experience:

Get the most from your budget:

  • The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Currituck area. To book the best rental home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Currituck restaurants and activities.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area visitor guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Make a plan and choose the right Currituck vacation home:

  • To start, have your family select trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Dogs stay FREE! 2-min walk to beach-2Bedrooms-3Beds -3Baths-Pool-Linens Provided has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, email the property owner before booking your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what is suitable for your group.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or could be applied to your contract.
  • Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Upon arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
