How to find the best Currituck rental experience:
Get the best rental value:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Currituck area. To find the best vacation home within budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local Currituck area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Filter your search:
- To start, have your family decide on dates and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. ManeStay Coastal Cottage, where wild horses roam free! 4 Wheel drive needed has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking websites. If not, email or call the host before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
Know before you go:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would at home.
- During check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be respectful. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
