Brigadune is an impressive oceanfront home in an award-winning community. It is a special place for creating happy memories, living up to the aura of Brigadoon, the magical village in the Scottish Highlands immortalized on Broadway. But this Brigadune is available on your schedule, not just once a century. Brigadune is on Corolla Light's less used north end. Its upper level is bright and light-filled with an open, refreshed design, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and ever-changing sights ranging from dolphin and pelicans to surfers and fishing boats. And the home is a short walk on the beach to Corolla Light's oceanfront pool complex (3 pools!) and its grille with really great crab cakes or to the Corolla Village Stores and its bakery, multiple dining choices, kite store, wild horse tours and more!
Ground Level: Brigadune is directly connected to a beach boardwalk with a dune top gazebo. It offers a carport, two outside showers, foot washer, gas grille, a putting green/cornhole site and simple-access half bath, plus plenty of storage for ocean toys under the home. In addition to the umbrella and chairs set up for your use daily at the beach, 6+ comfortably carried chairs are included. There is a full refrigerator in the entry hall, great for storing drinks and food going to the beach and for restocking the other two fridges above. Stairs to main entrance are new, with lighting and new pollywood rockers on the front porch.
Mid Level: A cavernous den/media room features a big UDTV, comfortable seating, a kitchen with a full refrigerator, microwave, toaster and coffee maker and a table and chairs suitable for board games or cards. The den features a peaceful front deck overlooking the front swing and plantings, and a modest oceanside deck. There is a huge oceanfront King Master Bedroom with full private bath, another UDTV and access to a enormous (12'x32'), shaded and airy screened porch with great ocean vistas for time out of the sun and other protected outdoor fun. The porch has comfortable seating for a full home. The mid-level's oceanfront Queen Master Bedroom has a huge HDTV, access to the screened porch and a semi-private bath with a second door to the hall. Still another oceanfront Bedroom offers 3 Single Beds, 1 Trundle Bed and an HDTV. (Two of the Singles can be combined into a King -linking kit in closet and sheets available upon request). That bedroom shares a full bath with a front-facing Bedroom with a DuoBunk (single over full), with an HDTV and its own front deck. The laundry room with washer and dryer is also on this level.
Top Level: The window-lined great room provides sweeping ocean vistas from all vantage points. The updated and well-outfitted kitchen has oak cabinets, Keurig and Ninja coffee makers, wood floors and a big granite island bar with 4 seats. The dining table accommodates 8 with a close by table for 4 that also is ideal for group games - and there is plenty of dining and calming space on the expanded upper deck, including a new counter-height pollywood table and 6 chairs. The sitting area has a big UDTV and other entertainment features. A cushioned window seat on the west side of the great room is ideal for appreciating the sunset and lighthouse vistas - also available from pollywood rocking chairs on a between-the-levels front deck. Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Corolla vacation home experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Corolla rental home:
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Currituck area. To find the best value, try changing your family's Currituck vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- In the Currituck area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area visitors guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Ocean Views, Den, Community Pools, Close to Beach access, 103, Brigadune-Oceanfront has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking pages. If not, call the property manager before booking your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Advice for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Document any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to propel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
