Tricks and tips to get the optimal Currituck vacation rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is a great way to save on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Currituck visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guides have coupons for local tours and attractions.
Make a plan and choose a perfect Currituck rental:
- Select your vacation week and spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Classic Corolla beach house near beaches and shopping has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking pages. If not, email the host before you book the rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
- If there's a particular Currituck beach you long to visit, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
More tips for your visit:
- Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
- During arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
