Tips and Tricks to get the best Corolla rental home experience:
When to visit Corolla & When to reserve a rental home:
- In the Currituck area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Summertime is high season in Corolla. To get the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Currituck attractions and restaurants.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Begin by selecting a vacation week and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. WH1020- Saltwater Pool! With 4 BRs (Two Masters) Hot Tub and Ship's Watch! has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If not, call the property management company before you book the rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what is optimal for your vacation.
- If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a specific Currituck attraction you long to visit, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
Tips for your stay:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- To make sure that no damages are attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the rental manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
