Currituck rental home booking tips:
When to book & When to go:
- The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Summertime is high season in Corolla. To get the best value, shift your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies supply Currituck area travel guides which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing the perfect rental home in the Currituck area:
- First, have your group agree to a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. Bermuda Banks: Pet-friendly home located in gated community with FREE amenities has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. Otherwise, email the property owner before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Some things to know before you go:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many problems.
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
- Record any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a terrific vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
