Currituck rental home tips and tricks:
Finding the best value:
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To get the best value, try shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- In the Currituck area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies supply Currituck area travel guides that include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Choose dates and max budget.
- 320 ft from the beach
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking websites. If not, reach out to the host before booking the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what is suitable for your family.
- If there's a particular Currituck attraction you simply love, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or might be applied to your agreement.
More considerations:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- To make certain that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the property manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to stimulate more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
