Tips to get the very best vacation rental experience:
Get the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the most suitable rental within budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- In the Currituck area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Many rental management companies supply Currituck area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking the bestrental:
- Start by having your family agree to a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Corolla has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often available online. Otherwise, email the host before you book the property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Have a great stay:
- Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. message the property manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to drive future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
