Tips and Tricks to get the best Currituck vacation property experience:

When to reserve a Currituck rental home & When to go:

  • The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Summer months are high season in the Currituck area. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Currituck visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.

How to choose the perfect vacation home:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a max budget.
  • 1600 ft from the beach
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
  • If your family is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a particular Currituck destination you are crazy about, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Tips for a smooth stay:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of issues.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Upon check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a great vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
