Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation rental experience:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Summer time is high season in the Currituck area. To get the best value, change your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area travel guide magazines that include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Start by having your group select trip dates and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. COASTAL REMEDY--- THE CURE FOR ALL THAT AILS has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what is right for your trip.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or charges could be applied to your agreement.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
Advice for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- During check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a excellent vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
