Strategies to get the perfect Corolla rental experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in the Currituck area. Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local Currituck area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and choose a budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. Summer Story: Private Pool, Elevator, Community Amenities has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If not, email the property management company before you book the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of concerns.
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas when you arrive. Call the host immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a excellent time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
