Tips and Tricks to get the very best Currituck vacation rental experience:
Get the most from your budget:
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. Book your vacation home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Currituck area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain discounts for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Planning, picking, and booking your prefectvacation home:
- First, have your group select a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. C1131 Corolla Light! Dogs! Heated Pool! Hot tub! Walk to restaurants! has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is usually available online. Otherwise, call the host before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Does your family require specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- During arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a wonderful time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
