Our top Corolla vacation rental home tips and tricks:
When to book a Currituck rental & When to go:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Currituck area. To book the largest rental within your budget, we recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
- The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area visitor guides that include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose and book the right Currituck rental home:
- Select your vacation dates and spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Oceanside, Private Pool, Hot Tub, Screened Porch, WC940, Whalin has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If not, email or call the host before reserving the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges may be applied to your contract.
Advice for a great stay:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Upon arrival, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of issues.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on great feedback to stimulate new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
