Tips to get the very best rental home experience:
How to get the best value:
- Reserve your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Some property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local Currituck visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guides have money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.
Finding the perfect vacation rental in Corolla:
- Start by choosing a vacation week and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Sound Escape: Elevator, Hot Tub, Private Pool, Soundfront Location has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. If not, email the host before booking the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what configuration is suitable for your family.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Document any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if there is a dispute.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to drive future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
