Tricks and tips to get the perfect Currituck vacation home experience:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To get the best value, try shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies supply Currituck area visitors guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting the best rental in the Currituck area:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. WH852- Stunning! Private Pool, Hot Tub, 4 BRs, Pool Table and Screened Porch! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the host before booking your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
More considerations:
- Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- Record any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are assessed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to compel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
