Tips to get the optimal Currituck vacation property experience:
Getting the most from your budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Currituck area. To get the best rental within budget, we suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area visitors guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking your prefectvacation home:
- Select a group leader, choose your dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. 4X4 only! Canal front. Ocean AND sound views! Decks and porches on all levels. has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. If not, email or call the property owner before you book the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's an individual Currituck destination you crave, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, note any problem areas when you arrive. message the host immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on good feedback to inspire new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
