Getting the best Currituck vacation property experience:
When to reserve a Currituck rental home & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To find the best value, shift your family's Currituck vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area visitor guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Select your vacation week and spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. 4X4 only! Canal front. Ocean AND sound views! Decks and porches on all levels. has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available online. If not, contact the property management company before booking your home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is best for your vacation group.
- If there's a particular Currituck attraction you are crazy about, search for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your visit, record any problem areas upon check in. message the host immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of issues.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a great stay? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
