It is located less than two miles from the Currituck Lighthouse and historic Corolla Village with its cozy stores, eateries, summer festivals, museums and Whalehead Club. Walk roughly 15 mins. down the beach and cross into the wild horse sanctuary to watch for the famed Corolla wild horses which roam here - or hike the adjoining boardwalk maritime forest trail for a gorgeous sunset.

Anchors Away is not only close to the beach access – have your toes in the sand in no time with only 3 homes between you and the ocean - but you also have your own private pool with ample patio seating, string lighting, fans, and a picnic table and hot tub. There are enough decks to spread out and appreciate the view, with glimpses of the ocean and lighthouse - and a screened in porch to enjoy the great sea breezes and sunsets. All Outer Banks Blue properties provide bed linens and bath towels for a modest fee added to every reservation. We provide 1 bath towel and washcloth per advertised occupant. Beds are made prior to your arrival, and we provide a starter supply of toilet paper, bathroom soap, paper towels, and dishwasher detergent.

Located in Corolla, this vacation home is near the beach. Wild Horse Museum and Outer Banks Center for Wildlife Education are cultural highlights, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Corolla Adventure Golf and Bumper Cars and The Sanderling Spa. How to get the best value:

  • In the Currituck area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Booking your vacation home in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.

  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the rental manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a terrific stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
