Walk roughly 15 mins. down the beach and cross into the wild horse sanctuary to watch for the famed Corolla wild horses which roam here - or hike the adjoining boardwalk maritime forest trail for a impressive sunset.

Anchors Away is not only close to the beach access – have your toes in the sand in no time with only 3 homes between you and the ocean - but you also have your own private pool with ample patio seating, string lighting, fans, and a picnic table and hot tub. There are enough decks to spread out and appreciate the view, with glimpses of the ocean and lighthouse - and a screened in porch to enjoy the great sea breezes and sunsets. All Outer Banks Blue properties provide bed linens and bath towels for a modest fee added to every reservation. We provide 1 bath towel and washcloth per advertised occupant. Beds are made prior to your arrival, and we provide a starter supply of toilet paper, bathroom soap, paper towels, and dishwasher detergent.

  • Summer is high season in the Currituck area. To find the largest vacation home within budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at Currituck restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses.   • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
