Our top Currituck rental property booking tips:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Currituck area. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is a great way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many rental management companies supply Currituck area travel guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose and book the right Currituck rental:
- Choose vacation dates and budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Sandy Pelican: Private Pool, Hot Tub & Elevator has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible online. If not, contact the host before booking the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's an individual Currituck attraction you love, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
More tips for your visit:
- We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of problems.
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your visit, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the rental manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a great time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
