Getting the best Corolla rental home experience:

Finding your perfect rental home:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Currituck area. To find the best value, shift your family's Currituck vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Currituck area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Planning and picking the perfect Currituck rental:

  • Select dates and spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Walk to Beach, Hot Tub, Resort with Community Pool has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before you book your home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs could be applied to your invoice.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain no damages are linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the rental manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many issues.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a fantastic stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
