Our top Rental home tips:

When to visit & When to book:

  • In the Currituck area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To find the largest vacation home within budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have coupons for local shops and restaurants.

Filter your rental search:

  • Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Walk to Beach, Hot Tub, Resort with Community Pool has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property management company before you reserve your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

During your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
  • To make sure no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the property manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a fantastic time? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
