How to book the best vacation rental experience:
Getting the best rental value:
- To book the best rental home within budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Currituck visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Planning, selecting, and booking your prefect Currituck rental home:
- Begin by choosing your trip dates and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Sea Forevermore 8 Bedroom Home at Whalehead has 8 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking websites. If not, email or call the property management company before reserving the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what is optimal for your vacation group.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- At Check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible resource to find the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to inspire future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
