How to get the best Corolla vacation property experience:
Get the most from your rental budget:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Corolla. Book your Currituck vacation home in the Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- In the Currituck area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, management companies supply Currituck area visitors guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Make a plan and pick the bestrental:
- First and foremost, have your group commit to dates and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. OCEANFRONT, Ocean Views, Pool, Rec Rm, PI244, Ashcroft has 8 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your group.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
More considerations:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
