Currituck rental home booking tips and tricks:
How to get the best rental value:
- In the Currituck area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Corolla. To find the best value, consider shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- Property managers sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, management companies supply Currituck area travel guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the perfect rental home:
- First and foremost, have your group commit to date ranges and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Salty Bones: Private Pool, Close to Beach Access, Community Amenities has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is optimal for your family.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
- If there's a particular Currituck beach you are enamored with, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Additional considerations:
- Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many difficulties.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if damages are assessed.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a great time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
