Tricks and tips to get the very best rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are high season in Corolla. To book the most suitable rental home for your budget, we recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Currituck restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Currituck visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

How to choose and book a perfect Currituck vacation home:

  • Start by choosing the best vacation week and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Promised Land: New to Rental Program, Private Saltwater Pool, Hot Tub has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your family.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
  • If there's a specific Currituck destination you are crazy about, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Document any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to compel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
