Tips to get the very best rental home experience:

When to visit Corolla & When to reserve a Corolla rental home:

  • In the Currituck area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Reserve your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area visitor guide magazines that include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Choosing the best rental home in the Currituck area:

  • Begin by choosing a vacation week and a budget.
  • Corolla has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the host before you reserve your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish which bed configuration is right for your vacation family.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .

Advice for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few issues.
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Upon check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a wonderful stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
