How to book the best Corolla vacation home experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a Currituck rental home:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To find the best value, consider changing your family's Currituck vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area travel guides which include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the best rental home:
- Select dates and budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Las Brisas: Private Pool, Hot Tub, Club Access has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often available online. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before booking your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few issues.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Upon check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to stimulate future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
