Tips for getting the perfect Currituck vacation home experience:
Sticking to your budget:
- In the Currituck area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Summertime is high season in the Currituck area. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is a good way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies supply Currituck area visitor guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose and book a perfectvacation home:
- Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and select a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Pet-friendly oceanside home w\/ pool & hot tub on the 4x4 beaches of Carova! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before you book the property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
Some things to know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of problems.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the host right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to inspire future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
