Our top Currituck rental home booking tips:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Summer months are high season in Corolla. Booking in Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
  • The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local Currituck visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for local shops and restaurants.

Filter your search:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Par Excellence: Beautiful home, pool, hot tub, game room, elevator and dog frien has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available online. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before reserving your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.

Advice for your stay:

  • Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • At Check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to stimulate future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review.
