How to find the best vacation rental experience:
Get the best value:
- In the Currituck area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To find the largest rental home for your budget, we recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Currituck attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Planning, picking, and booking a perfectrental:
- Start by selecting your a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Partial ocean-view home in Corolla with private pool & hot tub has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property manager before reserving the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what is best for your vacation family.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a specific Currituck beach you love, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Additional considerations:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Call the property manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a great time? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
