Strategies to get the best vacation property experience:
Sticking to your rental home budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Currituck area. Reserve your Currituck rental in Fall or Spring months to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local Currituck area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Planning and choosing the perfect Currituck vacation home:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Out of the Blue 8 Bedroom Home With Private Pool has 8 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you book your home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's a particular Currituck attraction you are enamored with, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. text the property manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of issues.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on good feedback to propel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
