Strategies to get the perfect vacation property experience:
When to reserve a Currituck rental home & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To get the largest rental for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have discounts for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Choosing the perfect rental home:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Oceanside Corolla home w\/ pool & hot tub just 875' to the beach! has 8 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible online. Otherwise, call the host before you book your rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's an individual Currituck attraction you crave, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- At Check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental while you are away. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to propel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
