Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Currituck vacation home experience:
Getting the best rental home value:
- Booking your vacation rental in Spring or Fall is a good way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many management companies supply Currituck area visitors guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- First and foremost, have your group agree to vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Pool& HotTub,Golf Community,Family Beach, Foosball has 8 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck vacation rental search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what is suitable for your vacation family.
- Is your group looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.
During your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your visit, record any problem areas during check in. message the rental manager right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many problems.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to compel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
