The best Outer Banks vacations all have one thing in common - La Playa! Bring your family and friends to this comfortably furnished and well-maintained home in the Whalehead Beach community of Corolla. The oceanside location means getting to the beach is safe and simple using the Dolphin Street public access, just a 4-min. walk away. Load up the beach cart to effortlessly transport all of your gear, toys and snacks. Back at the home, you'll have your own backyard getaway with private saltwater pool and hot tub for around-the-clock fun and relaxation. Play volleyball, yard games or just let the kids run around on the barefoot-friendly lawn. When you arrive, use the elevator to comfortably send suitcases and groceries to the upper levels. Inside, a cavernous open-concept great room offers horizon vistas of the ocean. When you're not dining out at one of Corolla's marvelous eateries, prepare meals at home in the well-equipped kitchen. La Playa is ideal for extended families or multiple groups visiting together. Two generously sized primary suites each include a king bed and private bath with jetted tub. Three additional bedrooms and a additional room on the lower levels ensure that everybody will have plenty of space and privacy while still being under one roof. A rec room with foosball table on the ground level can serve as a second gathering space. Use the additional full-size refrigerator for convenient poolside drinks and snacks, or for storing additional groceries.
Located on the southern end of the Whalehead community, La Playa is less than a ¼ mile from Monteray Plaza. Walk or bicycle to amenities such as grocery stores, specialty food markets, gas stations and a coffee shop, plus beach gear stores and units. Nearby dining and takeout services include Sun Fish Grille, Sundogs and Sooey's BBQ. For the ultimate retail therapy session, head over to Timbuck II Shopping Village where you'll find favorites such as The Cotton Gin, The Cottage Shop and Gray's. The village also features some of Corolla's most trendy eateries including Mike Dianna's Grille Room and La Dolce Vita. After dinner, head over to Big Buck's for ice cream, followed by a round of mini golf and go carts.

How to get the best vacation property experience:
Finding your best deal:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Corolla. To get the best value, try shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many rental management companies supply Currituck area travel guide magazines which include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose the perfect vacation rental:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and select a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. La Playa: Saltwater Pool
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the host before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a certain Currituck destination you are crazy about, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Document any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of problems.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to drive more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
