Tips and Tricks to get the best rental experience:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- Summer months are high season in Corolla. Booking in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area visitor guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting and booking the bestrental home:
- To start, have your family commit to the best dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. C7821 Remodeled! Flex Stays! Dogs OK! Pool Heat has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the host before you book the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's a specific Currituck beach you simply love, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Tips for your stay:
- Add the host's contact info to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make sure damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to stimulate new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
