Getting the best Currituck vacation home experience:
Get the most from your budget:
- Summer months are high season in the Currituck area. Booking your Currituck vacation rental in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- In the Currituck area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Often, property management companies supply Currituck area visitor guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose the perfect rental home:
- Start by having your group agree to date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration you need. C7821 Remodeled! Flex Stays! Dogs OK! Pool Heat has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property manager before booking your rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- If there's a specific Currituck beach you crave, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
- If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few issues.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
