Strategies to get the optimal Currituck vacation rental experience:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Summer time is high season in the Currituck area. Book your Currituck vacation home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area travel guides which often include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting and booking your prefectvacation home:
- Begin by selecting your a vacation week and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Isle Of Skye: Pet-friendly, Pool, Spa, Rec Room has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available online. Otherwise, email the property management company before reserving your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the host immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peace. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
