Tips for getting the perfect Currituck vacation home experience:

When to visit Corolla & When to book:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Book your rental property in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies supply Currituck area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Filter your search:

  • First and foremost, have your group commit to trip dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. From Sunrise to Sunset: Ocean views, 6 bedrooms, private pool, hot tub and keyle has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property owner before booking the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's an individual Currituck beach you long to visit, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many concerns.
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
  • To make sure damages are not attributed to your visit, note any problem areas during check in. Call the property manager immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good ratings to propel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
