Currituck rental booking tips and tricks:
When to reserve a Currituck rental & When to go:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Book your vacation home in Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area visitors guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to pick the perfect vacation home in the Currituck area:
- Choose your vacation dates and spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Oceanside In Corolla with private pool, hot tub & rec room with pool table has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck rental home search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you book the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or may be applied to your agreement.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the host's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Call the rental manager immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to propel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
