Tips and Tricks to get the optimal rental experience:
Finding your perfect rental:
- Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- In the Currituck area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many rental management companies supply Currituck area visitor guides that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to select the best rental home in Corolla:
- Start by choosing trip dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Corolla Sunset: Semi-Oceanfront Home Where the Road Ends has 7 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often available online. If not, reach out to the property management company before reserving the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what is right for your group.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.
Advice for a great stay:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- To make certain that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the host right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of problems.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to stimulate more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
