Tips and Tricks to get the best Currituck vacation rental experience:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- Summer time is high season in the Currituck area. To book the best rental for your budget, we suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Currituck restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Currituck visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain discounts for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning and picking a perfect Currituck rental home:
- Choose vacation week and maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Oceanside\/Walk2Beach\/HeatedPool\/Hot Tub\/Pool Table has 7 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available online. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before booking the home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish which bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Upon arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
