Strategies for getting the perfect rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Booking your Currituck vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Some hosts offer special rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area travel guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing the perfect vacation home in Corolla:
- Select a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. Comedy Central: Semi-Oceanfront, Close to Beach Access, Private Pool has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the host before booking the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Call the property manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
