Coastal Castle will become your “forever beach vacation” home once you appreciate its ocean vistas and many amenities that it has available for guests! It is dog-friendly for up to 2 family pets.

TOP LEVEL:
The Great Room has plenty of room for relaxation with a wraparound couch and separate recliner. A breakfast table at the front of this room will seat 4. There is access to a east sun deck at the front of the home for the early-risers in the family to savor their coffee while taking in the vistas. The galley-style kitchen is prepared to handle a crowd with 2 dishwashers and 2 full-size fridges with granite countertops offering plenty of room to prepare family meals. The kitchen bar counter has chairs for 5 and the dining table will seat 12. There is half bath located close by. A King Master Suite on this level has a private deck; its master bath has a soaking tub with a separate shower. From the back deck, guests can access the rooftop deck to see the sun rise over the ocean and sunsets over the Currituck Sound. An elevator connects all levels of this home. [Note: gas fireplace is not available for guest use.]

MID LEVEL:
This floor has numerous bedrooms and an private office if guests must work on their vacation! There are 2 King Master Suites; one has a shower in its master bath and the other has a shower/tub combo available. A King bedroom has access to a shared bath (shower/tub combo) with the another bedroom that has 2 Twin beds. All of these bedrooms have flat-screen TVs.

GROUND LEVEL:
The ground level has a Bunk Bed Master Suite which has a Pyramid Bunk Set and a regular Bunk Bed Set that is ideal for kids. Next, family members will be spending a lot of their time in the Parlor, which is equipped with a Pool table, couches for calming and watching TV, a sitting area and a kitchenette with bar seating, a full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, wine cooler and a half bath. The laundry area has 2 stackable washer and dryers. [Note: gas fireplaces in the home and in the Guest House are not available for guest use.]

GUEST HOME:
Completing this home is a Guest House with two King Master Suite apartments; each apartment has a private entrance with wet bar, drink refrigerator and microwave for guests. A Cabana Room with a TV, full-size refrigerator, wet bar, microwave and a table for 6 guests is located on the bottom level of the guest home and joins the pool patio for a place to gather and relax.

EXTRAS:
Just outside, guests will enjoy the 12' x 27' private pool (pool heat is available for an additional fee), hot tub, gas grille, a volleyball court and basketball hoop. An outdoor shower and a half bath are also part of the outside amenities. There is parking for 6-7 cars in the driveway.

About the Area

Located near the beach, this vacation home is in Whalehead Beach, a neighborhood in Corolla. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Outer Banks Beaches and Corolla Beach. Corolla Raceway and Corolla Adventure Golf and Bumper Cars are also worth visiting. Discover the area's water adventures with jet skiing and kayaking nearby, or enjoy the great outdoors with ecotours and cycling.

Tips to get the very best vacation property experience:

Sticking to your spending budget:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer time is high season in the Currituck area. To find the largest vacation home within budget, we recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Currituck visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

During your stay:

  • Add the host's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the host right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your life at home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a terrific stay? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
