Booking the best Currituck vacation rental experience:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in Corolla. To find the largest rental home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at Currituck restaurants, tours, and activities.
- Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Many property management companies supply Currituck area travel guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Private, Secluded, Spacious, Short walk to beach, Sound, Ocean View from deck has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available online. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before reserving your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of problems.
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. text the host immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a wonderful stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
