Strategies to get the perfect Currituck vacation home experience:
Find your best deal:
- Summer months are high season in the Currituck area. To find the best value, consider changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain money saving offers on nearby tours and attractions.
Filter your search:
- Start by having your family select date ranges and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. CC161, Mulligan- Soundside, Private Pool, Hot Tub, Community Amenities has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before you reserve your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is suitable for your family.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few issues.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to stimulate new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
