Tips and Tricks for getting the best Corolla rental home experience:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in Corolla. To get the best value, try changing your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many rental management companies supply Currituck area visitor guides that include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Start by selecting vacation dates and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. C5059 Gorgeous! Short Stays! Free Pool Heat! Dogs Welcome has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If not, email or call the property manager before reserving the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your trip.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
- Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Note any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to compel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
