Tricks and tips to get the optimal Currituck vacation rental experience:
Get the most from your spending budget:
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Currituck area. To get the best value, consider shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Currituck visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
How to choose and book a perfectvacation home:
- Choose your dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Special 4\/5 and 4\/20 Free Pool Heat, Gorgeous! Oceanfront, Dogs, C5059 has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before you book the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Know before you go:
- Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of concerns.
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
- During check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to drive new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
